After round 6 had to be cancelled due to power failure at the venue, the teams were ready to make up the lost week by scoring a record number of goals. Obviously it had nothing to do with the stand-in keeper… On that note Scott acutally won the keeper stats on the night against Michael with a narrow advantage on save percentage of 63.41% over Michael’s 63.15%. So clearly it was the players night shooting and scoring from evey corner of the court to make up for the lost round.

The first game was for the top of the table position between the Leopard Whip Rays and the Blue Spotted Maskrays. As per usual the Whip Rays didn’t manage the best of starts and were quickly trailing by 2 goals, but their topscorer Nils started their comback just before half time with two spectacular goals to level it up before the break. Blue Spotted Maskrays had some more great chances to take the lead again, but some fabolous goal keeping denied them the result. With another couple of goals the Whip Rays managed to win their first game of the night and secure two vital points at the top of the table. The Score: Leopard Whip Rays 4 : Blue Spotted Maskrays 2

The next game between the Blue Spotted Maskrays and Brazilian Numbfish was an offensive spectatular with goals being scored almost every minute. Stepan managed a number of classy long range shots for the Brazilian Numbfish who were keen to get the points, however Tomas had a blinder with 3 goals and an assist to make the difference in that match and secure 2 points for his team. The Score: Blue Spotted Maskrays 7 : Brazilian Numbfish 4.

The last game of the night between the Brazilian Numbfish and the Leopard Whip Rays started a little slower than the previous game and it was a very close and entertaining match with scored leveld at 2:2 at the half way mark. But after the break both teams unleashed with another 8 goals being scored. 6 of those were scored by the Leopard Whip Rays to win their second game for the night and with regain the top of the table spot. The Score: Brazilian Numbfish 4 : Leopard Whip Rays 8.

This meant there were a total of 29 goals scored on the night. 11 more than on the previous highest scoring night, so clearly the teams managed to compensate for the lost round.
