About Northern Beaches Floorball Club

We pride ourselves with our history being the origination club who started the sport of floorball in Australia. But not only have we been around the longest, we hope to have been the most influential club in this country to date as well. Various members of the clubs held numerous positions at both a national level for the Australian Floorball Association as well as the NSWFA to help shape the sport. We certainly feel that we have made a contribution to the ever increasing level of skill displayed by teams by being the most successful and most consistent club. The pinnacle of the sport – the Australian Championship (AFO) is where we traditionally do well and have managed to win 4 times in 11 competitions. Check out our club’s milestones here.

We also aim to be the model club for floorball development in Australia. We are, to this date, the only floorball club that is hosting their own annual tournament. The Northern Beaches Open (NBO) which was organised for the first time in 2006 and has grown each year. On top of that we ran the Salming Elite Series, which was the first interstate competition series back in 2008 and have also been the first team that has entered two teams in an Elite Series simultaneously.

The focus of the club this decade is to develop and grow the sport of floorball even more in Sydney’s Northern Beaches with an absolute focus on junior development and elite series players. After having been accepted by the IOC as the next Olympic sport our long term goal is to develop local juniors from Sydney’s North to be representing Australia and our club at the Olympic level.
